Deutsche Bahn has announced the sale of the Arriva Group, after 13 years of ownership.
I Squared is purchasing the group, including all of its operating businesses across 10 European markets.
Over the last few years, Deutsche hassold a number of its non-core Arriva markets, including those in Sweden, Portugal, Denmark and Poland.
Gautam Bhandari, I Squared’s managing partner and global chief investment officer, said the firm will “invest to support its future growth as a major European bus and rail operator.”
The deal is expected to close next year.
