Edmonton’s Southeastern Valley Line LRT will start operating in early November.

An independent certifier has given the green light for the system to open, bringing to an end over a year of delays stemming from cracks found in the support pillars during testing.

TransEd Partners, which includes Bechtel, EllisDon, Alstom and Fengate, along with Arup and IBI Group, announced that the line will start operating on November 4.

“This has been a long journey, with challenges and detours, but we’re confident in the system we’ve built,” said TransEd Partners CEO, Ronald Joncas. “We’re excited to welcome passengers onboard these brand new trains.”
