The European Energy Efficiency Fund (EEEF) has appointed an advisor to help prepare a large-scale energy efficiency retrofit in Barcelona.
Six teams responded to the call to provide legal, technical, and financial advisors, with Sawatco Iberica being chosen as the winner.
Under the plans, the Barcelona Metropolitan Area is looking to overhaul 77 major public buildings in 15 municipalities, including installing new biomass facilities, solar systems, and lighting upgrades.
The project is set to be structured as an energy savings PPP model.
