Investor developer Gilbane has appointed a new director of risk management.
Carolyn Farino will take up the position, working out of New York.
She joins from American Global, where she served as a senior vice president. Before that, Farino worked at Lendlease as its Americas head of insurance and also vice president of construction risk management at Related Companies.
Matt Lawrence, Gilbane’s chief financial officer, said that Farino “will play a key role in ensuring our projects are executed with the highest standards of quality and safety”.
Risk has been a consistent, evolving conversation in the P3 industry this year as the market continues to battle inflation, contractor interest and supply chain issues. Progressive models have emerged at the frontier of risk management; Gilbane was recently selected as part of the winning team on the Rhode Island transit center progressive P3.
