Peru’s investment agency ProInversion has prequalified seven teams for the Huancayo-Huancavelica Railway P3.

While not naming the entrants, ProInversion said that three of the teams hail from the Latin American region, Europe and Asia.

Under the plans, the winning team will renew one of the world’s highest railways, installing a new signalling and control system and rolling stock through a 30-year concession.

The planned award of the project has been delayed to Q1 next year.

Meanwhile, ProInversion announced that it has signed a deal with Peru’s Ministry of Culture to help prepare more PPP projects, bolstering institutional capacity and expertise.
