The Government of Barbados is planning to develop a new berth and bulk handling facility for the Port of Bridgetown, under a P3 model.
With support from the Inter-American Development Bank and the Global Infrastructure Facility, who will together provide project readiness assessment and strategic advice, the scheme is also receiving additional technical and commercial support from transport and infrastructure consulting firm ALG.
The multilateral and consultants will be assessing the technical viability, commercial structure, affordability, governance, regulatory environment, and social and environmental dimensions for the development of a “sustainable, efficient, fiscally responsible, and bankable” P3 project.
Earlier this month, the Bahamas government signed a P3 deal with a Plenary-led team to redevelop the South Bimini International Airport.
