Macquarie Asset Management has announced plans to expand its credit portfolio financing, including in the infrastructure space.

As a response to a “material change” in the macroeconomic scene, the firm is looking to provide “new sources” of capital to investors, targeting middle-market corporates.

The platform will provide credit solutions for projects in the infrastructure, real estate, and other sectors.

“At a time when borrowers are increasingly seeking larger and more bespoke financing solutions to support their fundraising activities, the lending landscape has changed, and this has impacted the terms that are available to them,” said Steve Berry, Macquarie’s private credit head of fund capital. “This is presenting significant opportunities to alternative lenders and I’m excited that we are stepping in with a solution.”
