New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) has released a request for proposals (RFP) on a next generation heliport concession.

Under the plans, private partners will regenerate the existing Downtown Manhattan Heliport (DMH), upgrading the facilities to support electric flight vehicles.

The city is seeking an operator to upgrade the heliport, which includes investing in the necessary infrastructure to accommodate electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft and delivering new last mile and maritime freight facilities, as well as running the site through a 5-year concession.

“Today, we are taking sustainability to the sky and our streets, and New Yorkers can feel the electricity in the air in our city as we electrify our heliport infrastructure,” said Mayor Adams.

Responses are due January 12, 2024. The tender can be found by clicking here.
