Santa Monica College has released a request for qualification (RFQ) on its student housing P3 project.
Under the plans, private partners will develop and deliver student accommodation blocks to help alleviate the university’s housing shortage.
A recent feasibility study identified the potential for delivering 1,255 single-occupancy units through a P3.
Although specifications on this RFQ’s scope are not determined, an attachment for a grant application shows plans for a two-block development with 291-beds.
The authority said it is looking for “innovative and experienced” partners to deliver the project through a design, build, finance, operate and maintain P3 contract.
Responses are due December 13, 2023. A pre-bid meeting will take place on November 29. The tender can be found by clicking here.
