The School Board of Lee County is set to throw out the current procurement for its Hector A. Cafferata K-8 School P3 - despite having chosen a preferred bidder - and will instead opt to restart the procurement.
In September, Fortress Secured was selected by the Superintendent as the winner, beating off competition from two other teams. The procurement was initially started by an unsolicited proposal.
In a latest update, however, the Superintendent is now recommending to the board ahead of a meeting next week that all proposals “be rejected and the solicitation reissued”.
Under the plans, private partners were sought to deliver a 1,500-student K‐8 school on a 30-acre, county-owned site through a P3.
