Edinburgh City Council is set to award a winner for its £200m Granton Waterfront heat network DBFOM contract.
Vattenfall has been recommended to enter a pre-development agreement, paving the way for the firm to be awarded the larger concession contract.
Four bidders have entered the race for the contract.
Under the plans, the firm will design, build, finance, operate and maintain the new heat network to supply utilities to the Granton Waterfront development. The concession will run for 40 years.
The overall development is marked as Scotland’s largest regeneration project, and this heat network will play a key part in its “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to transition towards a greener economy.”
The contract will be up for approval next week.
