Aloha Stadium Authority board chair Brennan Morioka told the monthly board meeting that officials are on schedule to release a request for qualifications in mid-December.
According to local news outlet, the Honolulu Star Advertiser, the board meeting also heard that at least three teams, comprising local and international players, are lining up to submit bids for the scheme.
Under the procurement’s previous iteration - when the program was split into two separate tenders (one for the stadium and one for the mixed-use entertainment district) - a raft of big names including Kobayashi Group, EllisDon, Plenary and John Laing had all been shortlisted.
However, in September this year the authority said that feedback from its market sounding exercise had revealed “significant concerns regarding the project’s financial feasibility”.
