The Port of New Orleans (Port NOLA) has hired a technical consultancy to help develop a strategy for the St Bernard Transportation Corridor.

WSP will assist the state agency with the development of the I-510 extension, which will connect Bernard Parish and the new $1.8bn Louisiana International Terminal to the national network.

The project is being envisioned as a P3, and the advisors will help assess potential finance structures and delivery methods, as well as other aspects.

“The Port of New Orleans continues to prioritize development of the St. Bernard Transportation Corridor as a parallel project with construction of the Louisiana International Terminal,” said Brandy Christian, Port NOLA’s president & CEO.
