Côte d'Ivoire is preparing a multi-hospital imaging PPP, with help from a major multilateral.
Under the plans, private partners will be sought to deliver laboratory and imaging services at 14 hospitals across the country.
The project will utilise a design, build, finance, operate and maintain agreement.
The IFC has been enlisted to help structure the project, which is being hailed as the first-ever ‘hybrid-PPP’ in the healthcare sector, featuring a blend of private sector and concessional financing from the private sector alongside the World Bank and the Global Financing Facility (GFF).
Pierre Dimba, Minister of Health, Public Hygiene and Universal Health Coverage of Côte d'Ivoire, said: "We are delighted to partner with IFC, the World Bank, and GFF to tap into private sector capital and expertise to develop public diagnostics infrastructure and provide low-cost yet high-quality health services.”
