The Cabinet has approved plans to use a PPP model to deliver the new National Hospital and the Children's Hospital in the Gampaha Byagama area.

Two parcels of land, covering seven acres, have been acquired by the government for the project, which aims to meet the needs of a growing population in the region.

In 2021, the Sri Lankan government revealed plans for a $5bn PPP pipeline of projects.
